How different are parks in England and Korea?

In general, Korean think going to the park is not an everyday routine like eating breakfast. Usually, they go to the park on a particular day when the weather is sunshine on the weekend and going on a date with a lover or family.

There are some reasons. Firstly, typically Korean park is not located everywhere like England park, so it is not easy to see the park near the town. Of course, there is a park near the city, but it is not usual.

( This park in the picture is one of the largest parks in Daegu, even it looks like having sizeable flat land, but it was structured on the hill. )

The second is the urbanization of Korean towns and the location of parks. The total forested of Korea territory is almost 70 percent, so the government does not afford to structure parks on flatland instead of town place. Thus, the type of Korean park is a forest park generally, and when Korean imagines park, they usually think the park is a forest park.

Also, the park where is located near downtown is composed of some of the artificial designs. And the total a grassplot in the park is not much generally, so usually Korean stay on the bench when they go to the park.

However, what about UK parks?. Last weekend, I had been to south park in Ilford in London to research and found out some distinctive things.

Firstly, the accessibility of going to the park and they have several old trees more than 50 years old in the park, which are generally enjoyable for Koreans. Because, when the Korean war was finished, many forests were ruined, so since then, seeing the old tree at the mountain became much tricky.

The next, in the park, they have an ecological system of their own and local people live together. Sometimes, it looks such a harmonious thing between nature and people. Seeing some creatures in the ordinary park is not a usual situation.

Also, against ordinary Korean parks, UK parks have a large area of grassplot in the park. Of course, there will be some existence of exceptions, but it is generally.

In my opinion, British people tend to come to the park often when they have spare time, and it would become their routine. Because when they were younger, they often would experience playing on the lawn naturally. This mention could be one of my stereotypes of British people, but as my experience, they look like that in the right direction.
